Randall Croft is the regional leader of the East Coast.
Biography[]
After a cure was found to the Red Flu outbreak, Croft moved into a large penthouse on Park Avenue located in New York City. At some point before or after the Red Flu outbreak, Croft developed a drinking problem. When it came time to unify the United States under the leadership of Jeffrey Michener, Croft was appointed the leader of East Coast Region. Croft eventually conspired with Allison Shaw and the other regional leaders to usurp leadership of the American government.
Events of The Last Ship[]
Michener video chats Croft and the other regional leaders to ask for their support in helping him handle the hostage crisis with the Nathan James and give CNO Chandler the time he needs to asses the situation. Of them all, Croft is second to pledge his support to Michener. (“Devil May Care”)
When the regional leaders demand a meeting with Michener, he agrees and meets with them at the White House. After Michener explains the situation overseas and the other regional leaders ask him to rescind his domestic policies, Croft points out how they supported him despite their people not being happy about it to make their case. Michener addresses the regional leaders, saying they all agreed that everything they did was the best plan for the nation. Michener goes onto to say that congressional elections are happening next month and afterwards they can decide whether or not to retain his policies. Michener then says they need to control their people until then, otherwise he will use the military to control their people and tells them to do their job. (“Minefield”)
Croft attends Michener's memorial service after he supposedly committed suicide with the other regional leaders, newly sworn in President Howard Oliver, Shaw, Rivera and Kara. Afterwards they meet in Oliver's new office where Croft joins everyone in criticizing Michener's job performance. Croft specifically states that Oliver has been away for too long and doesn't realize what bad shape the country is in. (“Sea Change”)
Croft attends Oliver's latest press conference to witness Oliver dismantle the government alongside the other regional leaders. But before Oliver can he is interrupted and rescued by Kara Green and her allies as Croft flees the gunfight. Croft later stands behind Shaw as she makes the announcement instead and frames their enemies for the murders of Michener, Beatty, and Rivera. (“Legacy”)
Croft meets with Shaw and the other regional leaders as they discuss what to do with Beatty's territory since his death, protesting Castillo taking over the region. Shaw proposes sharing the resources evenly as Castillo and Price provide the resources to do so. Later he follows Shaw to the war room where Colonel Witt is preparing to sink the Nathan James and kill Chandler once and for all. Croft insists on helping assist Allison Shaw in activating the centralized weapons system, wanting to be the one to destroy the Nathan James and kill Tom Chandler. After the system is armed and targets the Nathan James, all of them celebrate their demise within a few hours. (“Resistance”)
Croft argues with Shaw and the other regional leaders, accusing Castillo of backing out of the deal and keeping everything for himself. When the possibility of revolution is brought up, Croft exclaims that if that is the case they will all be in trouble. Shaw tells them to wait for more information before they move and he hangs up. Later that night, Croft is arrested in an alley leaving a bar by Mike Slattery and Wolf Taylor. (“Don't Look Back”)
